Issues: Jared - 2 flats, Kath - 2 flats, Jared bought new tires
We woke up early, and made our way to a small corner store, where we had a small breakfast and some coffee. The weather was cool and a little drier than the previous day, so we where sure we would make better time. But I heard a burst and my tire deflated quickly. The source of the puncture was half a toothpick, unfortunately this was only the first of many. We changed the tube, and just as had happened to Jared the previous day, it took only 5 minutes for my tire to puncture again. Jared had his first one of the day about 30 minutes later, and another one shortly after that. We were frustrated, and decided we needed to get to a bike store for some new patches and tubes. Jared decided to replace his high-pressure tires with more solid, and slower mountain biking tires. It was already late afternoon, so we decided to skip lunch and find a place to sleep for the night. After a search through some rather dodgy looking motels we found a lovely little guest house, with a friendly old lady as it’s proprietor. She welcomed us, and made a plan for our bikes, very curious that we had cycled all the way from Seoul. We walked around the town, and found a restaurant that sold some chicken soup, and had a few beers before going to bed early. My favorite part of the day was a steep downhill along a road that was lined on either side by gorgeous, colorful flowers.
